One thing that makes our venue truly special is that our outdoor ceremony space is fully licensed for legal weddings. That means you can have your wedding outdoors, right by the sea, without needing to do the legal bit beforehand or nip inside to sign paperwork. 

You can say your vows and sign the register under the open sky and our beautiful pagoda – it’s all official, all in one go, and all with that glorious coastal backdrop.

 Can we legally get married outdoors by the sea in Falmouth?
Yes. At Above The Bay, our outdoor ceremony space is licensed for legal weddings, so you can exchange vows and complete the legal ceremony outdoors, with the beautiful Cornish coastline and Falmouth Bay as the backdrop.

How many wedding guests can you accommodate?
At Above the Bay, we can accommodate weddings for up to 80 guests for the ceremony and up to 120 for the reception.

Is Above the Bay a dog-friendly wedding venue in Cornwall?
Yes, we are a dog-friendly wedding venue, so your four-legged friend can be part of your big day. Make sure to mention this during enquiry and booking so we can make sure to accommodate.

What spaces are available for a sea view wedding at Above the Bay?
For outdoor ceremonies, we have a beautiful outdoor space under our pagoda with beautiful sea views or we have an events room with a panoramic sea view balcony, with reception space in the restaurant, a dance floor and a fully stocked bar. Couples also have access to a private bridal room with its own toilet and balcony.

Is there parking for wedding guests at Above the Bay?
Yes. Free parking is available at our wedding venue, with overflow parking options for wedding guests.

Are there good locations for coastal wedding photos at Above the Bay?
Yes. The venue overlooks Falmouth Bay and offers panoramic coastal views for wedding photography. We also have electric golf buggy rides for the newlyweds to reach some of the most scenic viewpoints around the grounds for photographs.

Our chefs will work with you to create something special. If you want to ensure the menu is just right for your wedding, join us for a tasting session to sample and finalize your ideal wedding menu.

You’ll have private access to our renowned restaurant for your reception, complete with a dancefloor and fully stocked bar.

We booked Above The Bay 1 month before our big day due to a venue change, and I must say, they absolutely smashed it.

The process of getting everything sorted was stress free, professional and accommodating!

The staff and events team are incredible, not only are they excellent at what they do, they have fun doing it. Nothing is too much and they always went above and beyond.

Sophie made the whole process headache free and clear when planning our reception.

I’ll break it down some more below:

The Venue: Modern, spacious, light and amazingly situated (the views are the best around)
The food: They came up with a fantastic, delicious menu and it was a hit with all our family and friends, high praises all round!
Parking: Plentiful, with an overflow if needed AND brilliantly placed disabled spaces.Staff: We know hospitality can be hectic and stressful, but all of them were fantastic and happy to be there, they really have a great team dynamic and they’re super attentive.
Facilities: Clean, fresh and modern toilets and well appointed accessible WCs.

If you’re planning a wedding in Falmouth, don’t look anywhere else, pop up for a drink and take the venue in, you will want to have your special day here.

“We had THE BEST day! The weather was perfect and you and your staff were great all day! People have been full of praise for the bar staff as it was a busy wedding! We were worried there wouldn't be enough food but there was more than enough and it was all great! Again, we have received much praise to pass on with this regard.

Working with you has been brilliant. As you know, we had a very confusing and worrying time with the previous wedding coordinators and with all of the changes happening at above the bay. However, you put us both at ease in our first meeting! You are efficient and friendly and we couldn't ask any more.

"We loved our day at Above the Bay and received so much praise from our guests. We were lucky it was a lovely dry day and the views were just spectacular. Our guests also praised the facilities, parking, setting and the food, which was excellent. It was so easy having the whole event under one roof, and we were able to use the different spaces. We enjoyed taking golf carts out onto the green and the indoor spaces were also ideal for our needs.
The food was delicious and service was efficient, there were so many clean plates, even from the fussiest of guests! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and engaged with the whole event.

We had a rocky start with the venue as it was in the process of changing hands. However, once this settled down and the two Sophies were in post everything got much easier, and communications were efficient and swift.
On the day, Sophie W couldn't have been more flexible and responsive, really ensuring our day ran as smoothly as possible but also being relaxed and enabling us to enjoy our day. We'd just love to do it all over again!"

"Above The Bay is incredible, the food was beyond sensational and our guests were so impressed with it. There was something for everyone’s taste (we had the hot buffet), all was labelled and we had a few dietary requirements which were handled perfectly. Both Sophie’s were great on the day as well as leading up to it, they communicated well and went above and beyond with suggestions, support and ideas. They weren’t pushy in any way and we created the wedding we wanted. Thank you again so much! I couldn’t recommend this place enough!”
